Downtown Inc is pleased to announce the 2022 Downtown Bloom Grant Recipients. Thirteen businesses in Downtown York will be awarded funding totaling $20,500, offering them vital resources to improve productivity, expand business services, or help them grow to the next level.

On Friday, August 12, 2022, at 10:00 am, at the Goodridge Freedom Center & Underground Railroad Museum, located at 123 E. Philadelphia Street in Downtown York, PA unveiled a life-sized statue outside the entrance of the museum. The statue, which has been designed by nationally known sculptor, Gary Casteel, is the first African-American statue in York, PA.

The Bloom Grant Program was created in 2018 to help businesses address a tangible need that will help them improve productivity, expand their services, or grow to the next level. The 2022 Downtown York BLOOM Grant Program seeks to provide micro-grants to small businesses in Downtown York for projects that will continue that mission.

Congratulations to Downtown Inc’s June Merchant of the Month, The Cantina! Throughout Pride Month, The Cantina created a Pride-jito (Raspberry, Orange, Lemon, Lime, and Mint!) and half of every drink benefited the Rainbow Rose Center! In addition to a pride cocktail, the Cantina hosted a DJ Day Party Pride Edition, Drag Brunch, Mini Drag Show, and a series of Drag Shot Girl features. The Cantina is committed to hosting diverse events and entertainment performers, is an active part of the Royal Square District merchant community, and has recently made Downtown York even more beautiful with the recent addition of the outdoor bar space. King’s Courtyard Artists’ Collective was the second gallery to establish itself in the Royal Square District, Downtown York’s eclectic arts district named after its imperial location, flanked by Princess, Duke, King, and Queen Streets, and will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary on First Friday July.

The Downtown Inc team will be spreading the word about our Give Local York Campaign on May 6 throughout Downtown York in-person and through a series of Facebook lives.
